8 weeks already?

Wow, it's hard to believe our little Abbie is 8 weeks already. Sorry I haven't updated our blog in so long! We've had quite a busy and often challenging 8 weeks. And, unfortunately our photo library isn't working (I don't really get why... please refer any technical questions to my husband), so I can't even update with any new pictures of Abbie. Just picture her a little over three pounds bigger than the last picture... and I promise I'll try and get more pictures up sometime soon.

So with that, the name of our household for the past two months could probably just be "ill". I suppose it started when Miriam got the flu... followed by myself... then Abbie was born (see Labor story). Then Matt got the flu (and my mom during her stay here while she was helping us out). And then came the cold. The horrible head cold. It started with Miriam and was passed to Matt... and then to Abbie (and also to my dad... I feel terrible that both of my parents managed to get sick as a result of visiting us). Our poor little girls were both pretty sick. Miriam thankfully got over it in a few days, but Abbie ended up with two ear infections and then pneumonia. Unfortunately, the pneumonia resulted in an overnight hospital stay... but that seemed to do the trick. She had an IV for fluids and antibiotics and was sent home with a week's worth of antibiotics. And now... finally... I think we are all healthy! Our little girl is still growing well and even had her first smiles to the nurses in the hospital. We sure enjoyed seeing that after she had had such a rough day of x-rays, IV's, blood work and an oxygen monitor. Hopefully after all of that, I will be able to keep up on blogging a little better now!
